EMDT/960RP Boundary-Scan (JTAG) Emulator

Corelis¦ EMDT/960RP is a powerful real-time emulator for the Intel i960½ RP Intelligent I/O processor. The EMDT/960RP is a member of Corelis¦ extensive line of IEEE-1149.1 boundary-scan (JTAG) test access port based in-circuit emulators. The high density Ball Grid Array package style of the i960½ RP processors rules out the use of traditional bond-out chip based in-circuit emulators that require physical access to the processor bus. The non-intrusive nature of the JTAG Test Access Port and the associated fast JTAG data transfer protocol in combination with on-chip debug circuitry create a powerful yet low cost debug solution. The high clock speed of the JTAG interface enables fast downloading of user code to target RAM.
The EMDT/960RP is supplied with a high speed ISA bus or optionally PCMCIA bus based boundary-scan controller which provides the hardware interface between the i960½ RP processor JTAG port and the PC. The same controller can be used for production test, service and device programming applications using additional optional software modules.
The Windows(tm) based source level debugger supports most i960½ RP processor compilers available on the market. This debugger is compatible with both Windows 3.1(tm) and Windows 95(tm) and provides the user with an intuitive graphical user interface. Multiple views of object code, assembly code, processor registers, variables and C source code are provided is sizable windows and operation is controlled through user programmable menus, toolbars and dialog boxes. This eliminates the need to learn command line commands and arguments.
